Project Managers
Our project managers ensure that the highest standards in writing evaluation are maintained. The teams that will be assessing your students’ papers are composed of English teachers or other writing professionals trained in the analytical scoring method.
Connie was among the first trained group of scorers in the six trait analytical scoring model for writing assessment introduced in Oregon in 1984. She has since been an enthusiastic advocate for the traits, serving as a table leader in Oregon statewide assessments, and working as a writing consultant for Education Northwest. In her 30 years of experience working with the traits, Connie has trained new raters, presented scoring workshops for teachers, and developed scoring materials. She has contributed to the development of industry-standard rubrics used by teachers and administrators all over the world.
With an advanced degree in writing and 15 years of experience as an editor, Adriane has assessed writing using the six trait analytical scoring model for the last six years. She is adept at scoring all grades from beginning to twelfth grade research paper evaluation. Her experience and contribution to the assessment process at Education Northwest includes work in school districts across the United States and across the globe. In 2007 she participated in the Portland Early Head Start Program to help administer, score and record data for the PALS, PPVT and HTKS assessment. She is a professional editor for books and business materials, and has training and experience working in Montessori primary level education. She has taught English and writing to grades 1-6 and collaborated in building a new English and writing curriculum for elementary students at the Portland German-American School. Adriane holds a B.A. in English Literature from Mills College, where she graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Masters degree in Writing.
